I wrote " I Commit to Me " for the women who have been mistreated, misused, or have been abused. Who feel lost and confused and looking for a way out of this nightmare they call life. You may be wondering why? Did she create this workbook? Because this was once my story: always giving, never receiving, being the ride to die for someone who wouldn't even ride for me, settling for the bare minimum in all areas of my life, and creating codependent relationships. It gets worse, let me tell you a quick story about when I found myself in a cycle of abuse.

At the time I was trying to be a superwoman. I was trying to be the best girlfriend, mom, daughter, sister, and friend. While working and going to school full time. I was struggling with my worth, so allowed people to use me, take advantage of my kindness, abuse me, and treat me like shit. I was everyone's doormat. While walking around like nothing is wrong acting strong when I knew I was weak, holding everything in, just allowing it all to pill up. But after a while, I started to get frustrated with myself and my situation it was no longer comfortable for me. I was becoming more and more scared for the well-being of me and my children.

Then something really bad happened: I found myself on my kitchen floor fighting for my life. I couldn't breathe his hands were around my neck so tight. I felt my life slowly slipping away. Then I heard my children's voices in my head. Where is Mommy? What happened to mommy? Mommy, mommy, mommy I knew at that moment I couldn't give up. I start to swing my arms, I'm hitting him with everything that is left in me. Then all of a sudden he releases me. Then he yelled at me you're trying to kill me, I thought to myself how I am trying to kill you when you were choking the life out of me. Then I looked down at my hand and I saw it.

I had a knife in my hand. He was so scared; that he took off running out of the back door. This wasn't the first time he hit me, but this was the moment that changed me. It made me start questioning myself why me, is something wrong with me, and do I deserve to be beaten. This literally change the way I viewed people.

As you can imagine I was in bad shape. But I wasn't ready to give up on love. So I decided to work on myself. It wasn’t easy. It took me years of educating myself on domestic violence, trauma, and personal development. But It all paid off because of everything that I tried, learned, and tested over the years I now know that

  • unconditional love comes from within me

  • That I am responsible for how am loved

  • how I am treated

  • What access people have to me

Once I was committed to my needs and desire, everything changed! I was able to

  • Follow my passion

  • Forgive me and the people who mistreated me

  • Appreciate my life and everything that comes with it well, bad, and everything in between

  • Creating loving meaningful relationships that love follows both ways

"Now I'm living my life on my terms and not worry about what nobody has to say "

This is why I created "I Commit to Me", So you can experience life on your terms, and don't ever have to worry about someone mistreating, misusing, or abusing you again.

"Remember How you love yourself is how you teach others to you".
